The character models are rendered in real time 3D, allowing for a far greater number of moves ever before seen in a Mario Bros. title.
Also as the game is on DS, the touch screen allows players to store an additional power-up and view the distance still to go in a level.
Bowser and Bowser Jr. has kidnapped Princess Peach, and of course, it is up to Mario and Luigi to rescue her and take down the troublemakers.
There are eight new worlds to explore, much like in Mario 3 : they are Plains, Desert, Tropical Island, Forest, Ice, Mountains, Sky, and Bowser's Lair.
The eight worlds have eighty distinct levels as well as many secrets that will only be found on careful examination.
There are also many new power-ups (the mega mushroom and Koopa shell, for instance) for the brothers to collect.
About Nintendo Wii U
The Wii U (2012) was commercially Nintendo's least successful home console, hampered by market confusion over whether the GamePad tablet controller was a new device or a Wii accessory. Its low sales mean smaller overall print runs across the board, and several first-party and indie darlings have already become noticeably pricier than their commercial performance would suggest, since there are simply fewer copies in circulation.
Gamevaro tracks New Super Mario Bros. U [Misprint] for Nintendo Wii U with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.

Market insights
Rarity & condition
Only a handful of market sales have been tracked for New Super Mario Bros. U [Misprint], suggesting it doesn't trade hands very often — a sign of relative scarcity compared to more common Nintendo Wii U titles.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
